Members Present: Dana Acy (Chair), James Brown, Kim Stark, Rachel Jakubiec, Kent Cicerchi,
Michelle Bronowski
Motion by Acy, second by Brown to approve the minutes from March 24, 2026, April 22, 2026,
and May 19, 2026.
BUSINESS:
• E-Bikes and Safety Initiatives: Members discussed the status of the e-bike legislation
currently before Council. While potential amendments have been discussed, no official
amendment language has been introduced at this time.
• Diligent Account Access Issues: Several members reported difficulties accessing Diligent,
including activation emails and browser compatibility issues. Assistance was offered to
any members who had not yet activated their accounts or who were experiencing
technical difficulties. Bronowski will continue working with members as needed.
• Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment and Food Distribution Event: Acy suggested partnering
with Cleveland Food Bank to host a community event focused on Medicare and
Medicaid education. Members support increasing engagement with Brooklyn seniors.
Acy will explore Senior Center availability for an August event.
• Brooklyn Home Days: Members discussed staffing a table at Brooklyn Home Days on
August 22 and August 23. It was suggested to conduct resident surveys during this
event to gather feedback on community needs, priorities and future programming. Acy
asked members to volunteer.
• Resident Survey Development: Members revisited the idea of developing a brief survey
consisting of approximately 7 to 10 questions to gather resident feedback regarding
community needs and future programming. Stark offered assistance with refining the
survey questions and implementing the survey through Survey Monkey.

• Commission vs. Committee Designation: Members discussed whether the body is a
“Commission” or “Committee”. The Ordinance identifies the group as the Connecting
and Belonging Commission, members noted that its advisory role resembles that of a
committee.
The next scheduled meeting is July 21, 2026, via Zoom.
