1.) Call to Order.
Meeting called to order by Mr. Rodrigo Moreno at 5:31 PM
2.) Public Comment Period.
No public comments.
3.) Discussion, Consideration and Action to approve the Minutes of June 18, 2020, of the
Brownsville Border Film Advisory Commission Meeting.
Mr. Michael Cuellar moves to approve the meeting minutes of Jun. 18, 2020. Mr. Jesus Trevino seconds
the motion. All in favor. Motion passes.
4.) Discussion and review on the Brownsville Border Film Commission website.
Ms. Maria Rentrop presents the Brownsville Border Film Commission website, filmbtx.com. Mr. Felipe
Romero explains services included on the website to facilitate filming in the City of Brownsville. Ms.
Maria Rentrop discusses features, such as Coronavirus & Open Texas.
Mr. Rodrigo Moreno suggests filming and introduction video for the website, and a video of RJ Mitte
welcoming filmmakers to Brownsville.
Mr. Mauricio Saenz asks about using locations in Matamoros for filming to attract productions with
different settings. Mr. Cuellar adds that talking to Matamoros officials for permissions and guidelines
about filming.
Mr. Felipe Romero recommends submitting any pictures of Brownsville filming locations to display on
the Brownsville Border Film Commission website. Mr. Jesus Trevino adds that they need official
authorizations for using locations. Mr. Rene Rhi mentions he has photos of productions taking place in
Brownsville and shares this file to the zoom chat.
Ms. Holly Putegnat asks for an app to facilitate location application process, and suggests having printed
versions available as well.
Motion to approve the Brownsville Border Film Commission website by Mr. Mauricio Saenz. Mr. Rene
Rhi seconds the motion. All in favor. Motion passes 5:51 PM.
5.) Adjournment.
Mr. Michael Cuellar motions to adjourn. Mr. Mauricio Saenz seconds the motion. All in favor. Motion
passes, meeting adjourned at 5:52 PM.
