Architect PUTEGNAT, Tara–Heritage Tourism Professional WALKER, Calvin–Chairman NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BROWNSVILLE Pursuant to Chapter 551, Title 5 of the Texas Government Code, the Texas Open Meetings Act, notice is hereby given that the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) of the City of Brownsville, Texas, has scheduled a Regular Meeting, on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12:00 P.M., in the City Chambers, on the Second Floor of the Brownsville City Hall - Old Federal Building, located at 1001 E. Elizabeth St., Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas, 78520. The public may view a live streaming of the meeting at the following link: Historic Preservation Commission 02/16/2024 - YouTube Members of the public who submitted a “Public Comment Form” will be permitted to offer public comments as provided by the agenda and as permitted by the presiding officer during the meeting. A recording of the meeting will be made and will be available to the public in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. **************** CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER CITIZEN COMMUNICATION GENERAL The first ten (10) speakers who register to speak no later than noon the day before the meeting will be allowed a three-minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A.1 January 19, 2024 – Offered for consent approval. 2. PUBLIC HEARINGS B.1 Consideration and Action on 2024 Tax Exemption properties in the following categories: National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and/or Recorded Texas Historical Landmarks (RTHL) inventory properties. Local Designated Primary Resources (LDPR). Substantial Rehabilitated Properties since 2014. 2024 Proposed New Substantial Rehabilitated Properties. B.2 Consideration and Action on Substantial Rehabilitated Properties whose time has expired and must be removed from the Tax Exemption Program. B.3 Consideration and Action on National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and/or Recorded Texas Historical Landmarks (RTHL) properties that will be blocked in 2024 and until non-compliance is resolved.
