THE STATE OF TEXAS ) CITY OF BROWNSVILLE ) COUNTY OF CAMERON ) NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF BROWNSVILLE Pursuant to Chapter 551 , Title 5 of the Texas Government Code, the Texas Opening Meetings Act, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee of the City of Brownsville, Texas, will be conducted on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Recreation Center, 1338 E. 8th & Tyler St. , in Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas, 78520. At said meeting, the following items will be considered : 1. Call to order 2. Pledge of Allegiance : United States Pledge * Texas Pledge 3. Approva l of the Minutes of the last meeting of November 2nd, 201 7. 4. Discussion Period (15 minutes) • Strategic plan on when to report updates to City Commission. 5. Discussion on Jefferson Davis Town Hall meeting to determine date to present to City Commission targeted for the 2nd meeting in January (Parks Chairperson). 6. Discussion and Action to nominate Co-chairperson and Secretary for the Parks Advisory Board (Parks Chairperson). 7. Discussion to review attendance as per Parks Advisory board by-laws (Parks Chairperson). 8. Consideration and Action to approve Parks Advisory Board Project(s) FY2018. (Parks Chairperson). 9 Discussion to amend Parks Advisory Board by-laws/ordinance to quarterly meetings (Parks Chairperson ). 10. Director's Report (Damaris McGlone - Parks Director) 11 . Safety Concerns (Parks Dept.) 12. Public Comment Period: Please Note: THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD IS DESIGNATED FOR HEARING CONCERNS REGARDING CITY OF BROWNSVILLE PUBLIC POLICY OR CITY OF BROWNSVILLE BUSINESS THAT IS NOT ON THE AGENDA. • There is a three (3) - minute time limit per speaker (Timed) • No Formal Action can be taken • For the Record , the speaker must identify by name before speaking 13.
