MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 27, 2017 – REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The City Council of the City of Brush, Colorado met in regular session on February 27, 2017.
Mayor Chuck Schonberger called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at
Brush City Hall. The pledge of allegiance was given.
Present on roll call were: Mayor Chuck Schonberger
Councilor Jeanine Anderson
Councilor Rick Bain
Councilor Marlene Baker
Councilor Heath Becker
Councilor Kimberly Dykes
Councilor Vicky Quinlin
Absent: None.
Also present were City Administrator Monty Torres, Police Chief Travis Anderson, City Attorney
Bo Chapin, Assistant Administrator Karen Schminke, Finance Director Joanne Gosselink, and
City Clerk Andrea Strand.
MINUTES
The minutes of the regular meeting of February 13, 2017, were approved as submitted.
VISITORS AND DELEGATIONS
Scott McIntosh who resides at 412 Dessa Street, asked if his sewer bill could be lowered.
Finance Director Gosselink responded that the rate for individuals who use City utilities is one
and one half times

Councilor Quinlin moved, second by Councilor Anderson to approve City bills from February 13-
23 – February 27, 2017. The roll call vote was unanimous.

STAFF REPORTS
Finance Director Gosselink
• Reported that a rate increase for the waste water treatment will be on the agenda for the
next work session.
• Reported that since the new trash truck came in under budget, we will not be pursuing a
loan.
Police Chief Anderson
• Reported that K9 Officer Mux was used on a recent domestic violence call and by state
patrol.
• Area law enforcement agencies are planning a public safety day in June to showcase
their vehicles and programs. Details to come later.
• Lt. Hardy provided a demonstration of the robot recently acquired through the military
program.
Community Development Director Schminke
• Reminded citizens that her office is open to help with any permits needed for home
improvement projects that may be considering.
City Clerk Strand
• Highlighted upcoming meetings on the calendar.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL
Councilor Becker
• Reported that he is getting middle school kids aware and involved with the concept of a
city youth commission.
