Buena Vista Water Advisory Board Minutes of April; 18, 2024 Call to Order Regular Meeting called to order by Kelly Collins at 6:36 pm at Town Hall East meeting room Attendance and Introductions In attendance were: Kelly Collins, Roy Gertson, Chris Sturm, Jeff Ollinger, Liz Daigle, Tony La Greca, Andrew Rice P.E. ( Town Council) Shawn Williams ( BV Public Works Director) Al Smith P.E.( SwiftWater Solutions ), Agenda Adoption , Approved by Chairman Approval of Minutes Minutes ; March 2023 approved by e-mail & ratified with motion from Liz, 2nd by Chris . Members approved Public Comment none Business : a.. Al Smith stated the 1st & 2nd submittals for the Conservation Plan are being revised with WAB comments. . b .. Water Allocation Policy will be moved to May meeting. Kelly will pre- pare a powerpoint on the issues. Some discussion proceeded involving: What constitutes an emergency , maybe better described a contingency, what % could the UAWCD aug- mentation certificates provide the Town’s water portfolio, indoor versus outdoor watering volumes designated. c. Function & Focus., this annual work plan reviewed with some changes. Motion by Liz & 2nd by Chris to approve the work plan, Members approved. Jeff to present to the Town Council , when appropriate. Shawn will present to Brian Berger Town Administrator. d.. Meeting times will stay the same with consensus from members. e. Shawn reported Well # 3 pump test next week. Improvements should in- crease pumping rate. RFP by Wright Water Engineers is progressing for well # 4 with con- struction & drilling in Fall 2024. Well will be located just north of Soccer field to ac- commodate proximity to existing distribution.of well #3 and a common entry point. New Infiltration Gallery Cottonwood Creek crossing will be week of April 21. Creek will be diverted around pipeline excavation. Still need leak detection in Ivy League Subdivision. Alpine West subdivision has applied for Town Water service using UAW- CD aug Certificates. A hydraulic analysis is pending along with available fire flow. Sub- Town of Buena Vista Water Advisory Board Minutes – April 18,, 2023 division is located in the Town’s upper psi zone supplied by the two 0.750 MG tanks off CR 361 & CR 306, but not in Town limits. Four Town of Buena Vista Watershed sign sites have been identified . Chaf- fee County Road & Bridge Dept. is reviewing. Other Business: 1. The Elk Run Subdivision Water Supply Protection District agreement has been finalized. Sampling of two wells is proceeding for ground water base line quali- ty. Document is in on the WAB Google Drive. 2. US Forest Service wants to meet this coming fall season to discuss their forest management plans within the Town’s water shed. Next meeting: May 16 , 2024 Seeing that there was no further business, a motion to adjourn was requested Motion by Tony , second by Roy to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 PM. Motion carried.
