Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Meeting Minutes February 4, 2014 In attendance: Maria Pickering, Jane Sneeringer, Heidi Yeoman, Jerry Mollerstuen, Maggie Buckholz, and Maria Magana Jerry moved to approve the January minutes. Jane seconded. Motion approved. Communication: • Still no budget update from the city or 2013 year end • Winter adult reading month kick-off stared mid-January and will go through March • Defibrillator update: Maggie will meet with Capt. Butterfield from the fire dept. for a recommendation on the type of AED to purchase • We have been invited by the Allen Family Foundation to apply for grant funds for children’s services • The genealogy grant is going well • The Teen Advisory Board is working on a getting teen recommendations for what they would like considered for new furnishings • Discussion on an induction loop (hearing system) in the public meeting room Incident Reports • None Unfinished Business: • Heidi motioned to approve library bills. Jerry seconded. Motion passed • Jane moved to approve weeds and discards. Jerry seconded. Motion passed. • Maggie will give a presentation to the school board regarding nonresident card fees at their April meeting. New Business: • Jerry made motion to recommend to the Mayor that Maria Magaña be the one to fill the vacant trustee position. Heidi seconded. Motion passed. • There will be a county wide trustees training meeting at BPL on April 26th. • Jerry will be absent from the March meeting. • Date changed for the April board meeting to April 9th Meeting adjourned at 6:45pm Submitted by Heidi Yeoman
