Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes June 3, 2014 In attendance: Heidi Yeoman, Maggie Buckholz, Jane Sneeringer, Jerry Mullerstuen, Maria Pickering and Maria Magana. Jane motioned to approve the May meeting minutes. Jerry seconded. Motion passed. Communication: Directors Report • Sales tax to Amazon was paid twice. We will get a refund from the Dept. of Revenue. • Roots final presentation was given. It was a very successful program for students and mentors. • The Mayor held a public meeting where city departments shared what was going on. The Library participated. • The Hearing loop installation is now complete. • The Central Skagit Library director met with Burlington library staff to get information about joining the Evergreen consortium for its library catalog. Incident Reports • Maggie has been monitoring behavior in the library, and the Burlington Police Dept. Citizen’s Patrol has been walking through daily which has helped cut down on incidents. Unfinished Business • The Skagit libraries Trustees training was reviewed. • Heidi motioned to approve bills. Jerry seconded. Motion passed. • Jerry motioned to approve weeds and discards. Maria seconded. Motion passed. • The 2015 budget was discussed and the board suggested goals that should be included. • The board reviewed a map and made recommendations for Wayfinder signs to be installed.
