Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Meeting Minutes November 4, 2014 In attendance: Heidi Yeoman, Maria Pickering, Jerry Mullerstuen, Maria Magana, and Maggie Buckholz. Excused: Jane Sneeringer. Meeting called to order at 6:06pm Jerry motioned to approve October minutes as corrected (minor typo.) Maria Magana seconded. Motion passed. Communications • The Board reviewed the current financial report. Appropriated amounts were changed slightly due to a budget extension by the City. • 416 lbs of food was collected in October for the Food for Fines program. 66 people took advantage of the program and $116 late fees were waived. • STEAM program is going great. The program is drawing new families to the library. • Incident: A particular patron is being watched for inappropriate behavior. Unfinished Business • Heidi motioned to approve the weeds and discards. Jerry seconded. Motion passed. • Budget update for 2015: Library additions have been discussed and have made it into the Mayor’s proposal and into Council consideration. • Policy changes were reviewed and will be considered at the next meeting. • Heidi motioned to approve bills. Jerry seconded. Motion passed. New Business • Jerry motioned to approve library schedule changes as follows: close at 5pm on Dec 23rd and Dec 31st of 2014 and 2015; as well as close the library all day on Dec 26, 2015.
