Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Meeting Minutes for August 2nd, 2016 In attendance: Sarah Ward, Jane Sneeringer, Cindy Lint, Maria Pickering, Maria Magana and Heidi Yeoman Call to order at 6:02pm Jane motioned to approve the July meeting minutes. Maria M seconded. Motion passed. Directors Report -Restructure plan was approved by the city. Juan F was hired for the Spanish outreach position. Lauren K was promoted from within. The library has two assistant positions to fill. - No incidents to report. -Monthly Report. Summer programs are going well. Door count numbers are good We are serving about 30 migrant kids with a reading program We are helping with the boys and girls club lunch program and serving about 45 kids Jenny is doing a great job with her programs. Unfinished Business -Cindy motioned to approve the bills. Maria M seconded. Motion passed. -No weeds and discards list this month New Business - Sarah has been nominated for Leadership Skagit. -New State Librarian, Cindy Aden -Bridget Collins is helping to review our children’s area procedures in keeping kids safe from predators. -An Olympic field day will take place to end the summer reading program -The Library is a Pokemon Go stop and is attracting lots of kids and adults Meeting adjourned at 6:40pm Next meeting scheduled for September 6, 2016 Submitted by Heidi Yeoman
