Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Meeting Minutes for October 4th, 2016 In attendance: Cindy Line, Maria Pickering, Maria Magana, Heidi Yeoman, Sarah Ward and Jane Sneeringer. Call to order at 6pm Cindy motioned to approve September meeting minutes. Maria M seconded. Motion passed. Communications: Director's Report -"Not if but when" presentation was given to talk to kids about grief and trama. 15 to 20 attended. Learned that books are the best way to reach kids. This class will be offered up at Western Wa University. Our teen librarians will attend. -Fun events planned in light of trama -Oct 5th, juggler -Oct 12th, Noise guy -Teen program "Flashback Movie Night" will show the movie "Goonies" and "Gremlins" -Financial Report -OT shown will be fixed -Wages in the negative are increasing because it was entered incorrectly -The money under "machinery" was the money saved on the purchase of chairs. Surplus willbe spent on ergonomically correct desks/chairs for staff. - No incidents to report. Unfinished Business - Cindy motioned to approve weeds and discards. Jane seconded. Motion passed. -Heidi motioned to approve bill. Maria M seconded. Motion passed. New Business -Submitted LTAC presenting on Thursday -November 2nd to 11th Sarah will be on vacation. -Two new hires starting this month -2017 budget review -Country allocation is $ 9,737 for 2017 budget -Policy review.
