Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting June 5, 2018 Meeting Minutes In attendance: Sara Ward, Heidi Yeoman, Cindy Lint, Maria Magana, Maria Pickering, Tonya Bieche. Cindy moved to approve the minutes of the April meeting. Heidi seconded, motion passed. Communications:  The “Safe Surroundings” training by Sno-Isle went well. All staff trained. This may become an annual training, along with things like CPR and First Aid.  The Library Assistant position is posted, and two postings for Library Page will be ready next week.  Financials still not correct, but the solution to the bookkeeping error is known and will be in place soon. Unfinished Business:  Library Bills: Heidi moved to approve. Cindy seconded. Motion passed.  Weeds and Discards: Maria P. moved to approve. Heidi seconded. Motion passed. New Business:  Holiday date changes: Next board meeting: July 2, at 6:00, as the library plans to close early on the 3rd; December 31 Library will close early. January 1, 2019 meeting will be moved to January 8.  There is a strong possibility that an Interlocal Agreement for students in BESD to have library access will be formed this month. Several details still need to be worked out, but the SD wants to pursue it in the upcoming budget cycle.  Strategic Plan process is on hold as the City is considering working on a Strategic Plan, and we would want to coordinate with theirs. An RFQ is ready for submittal.  A policy for use of the 3-D Printer was approved.  Summer Reading is ready for Kids, Teens, and Adults.  The Library is working with the Parks Department and United General Hospital District on “Pop-Up Parks” to provide park services in underrepresented areas. The schedule will be sent out with the upcoming Sewer bills. Submitted by Cindy Lint Next meeting July 2
