Unfinished Business:  Approval of bills: Carol moved, Evan seconded, motion passed  Weeds and discards: Cindy moved, Evan seconded, motion passed. New Business:  Board member Evan Greenlaw is moving to Sedro-Woolley after the October meeting therefore will not be able to continue his term. Yadira Orozco, local business owner, is attending today’s meeting and may be interested in serving on the board.  There was a long discussion of the status of the effort to gain library cards for students of BESD who reside outside city limits. Rotary had talked of helping, but the costs are perhaps prohibitive. It was agreed to make some further inquiries in an effort to determine more closely the number of students this would affect, as well as how best to proceed.  Budget Update: There has been a request by the city to reduce non-personnel budget by 6% for 2020. There will be about a 25% reduction in new book budget, relinquishment by Sarah Ward of her cell phone, $50,000 cut from training budget (likely to be recouped with grant dollars), cutting Value Line, and then cutting each section of the budget that was not fully spent in 2018.  Salary Survey: It is hoped that the city will approve new salary levels at the Sept 12th council meeting.  Books are Magic (formerly Quidditch Fest): cancelled for 2020 due to reduced attendance without the Quidditch name. New ideas will be looked at for a future summer event.  Touch a Truck was a huge success, with over 400 attendees. Submitted by Cindy Lint Next meeting October 1, 6:00 PM
