Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting November 3, 2020 Meeting minutes In attendance via telephone: Sarah Ward, Cindy Lint, Maria Magana, Carol Doyle, Janice Burwash Approval of minutes from the October meeting: Cindy moved, Maria seconded, motion passed. Communications: ● Grab Bag Service is popular. Twenty-four kits were requested and completed this month. ● The Interlocal agreement with BESD was unanimously passed by the City Council on October 22. Seventy-one new non-resident students have obtained library cards since then. ● Teen Take and Make is also very popular. Candy Sushi had 20 participants, and Cemetariams had 10 participants. ● Financials: spending restrictions still in place. The Foundation is providing funds for new library materials, which is greatly appreciated. Unfinished Business: ● Weeds and discards: Cindy moved, Carol seconded, motion passed ● Approval of bills for October: These were mistakenly not sent out to the board. Will be voted on at December meeting New Business: ● Reopening update: due to the recent surge in COVID cases, this is on pause. The reopening committee does have a plan in place. The library will open first for computer access. Other libraries in the area are hoping to open in January 2021, and BPL is hoping to open then also. ● BESD student cards usage will be monitored and data tracked to look for ways to strengthen the partnership with the school district.
