Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting April 11, 2023 Meeting Minutes In attendance: Jenny Cole, Maria Magana, Cindy Lint, Lettie Lance, Carol Doyle, Maria Yazzolino Absent: Sarah Ward Approval of minutes for March meeting: Maria M. moved, Carol seconded, motion passed. Communications:  Salish Sea Deaf School visited the library and are now coming on a weekly basis. They sent a very creative thank you card.  Children’s Librarian Eleanor and Outreach Associate Lucy attended parent teacher conferences at Lucille Umbarger and Allen Elementary to connect with families and sign them up for library cards.  The Rotary Club’s YES program sends teen volunteers on service trips in the summer and several of the teen library volunteers are part of a group traveling to Honduras. The Kindness club made bracelets that will be given to children on this service trip.  The family of a patron that passed donated their DVD collection to the library.  A new calendar reservation system for the community rooms is coming in May.  Financials – on track and routine. Old Business/Monthly Tasks/Updates:  Approval of bills: Cindy moved, Lettie seconded, motion passed.  No incident reports.  No real discussion of weeds and discards. New Business:  Reviewed Library Board by-laws with the new officer elections voted in last month.  Reviewed filming and photography policy – legal department supported. Carol motioned to approve, Maria Y. seconded, motion passed.  New board orientation to happen soon.  Group photo postponed, waiting for Sarah Ward to be in attendance.  No “First Amendment Auditors” have visited the library.
