Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting November 7, 2023 Meeting Minutes In attendance: Sarah Ward, Maria Magana, Carol Doyle, Lettie Lance Approval of minutes for June meeting: Carol moved, Maria seconded; motion passed. Communications: ● Library event attendance was good in October. Patrons of all ages have been enjoying the new Lego wall and a Spanish language book club is in the works. ● A new grant-funded literacy program called “Prime Time Reading” has served over 60 families so far, with more sessions to come. ● Financials are on track. Next year’s budget has been submitted for approval. ● No incidents were reported. Old Business/Monthly Tasks/Updates: ● Approval of bills: Lettie moved, Carol seconded; motion passed. ● No discussion of weeds and discards. New Business: ● The Evergreen Library system is being expanded to include all libraries in Skagit County, and a staff training day will occur on November 17th. Inter-library borrowing is currently possible upon request and will soon be available to patrons. ● Two open positions have been filled internally. ● The State Librarian gave the library a resource book for Board members and a copy of training materials used at the recent Board training.
