Butte Civic Center Board Board of Directors Meeting Minutes May 5, 2026 12:00pm MEMBERS PRESENT: Marko Lucich, Dan Callahan, Jamie Lynch, MEMBERS EXCUSED: Kelly Lee, Jocelyn Dodge STAFF PRESENT: Bill Melvin, Krystal Carlson Marko Lucich called the meeting to order 12:03pm MOTION: Approve the April 9th Board Minutes as presented. 1st Jamie 2nd Dan Motion Passed NEW BUSINESS • 2028 MHSA TOURNAMENTS AWARDED The Butte Civic Center will host the combined Boys’ & Girls’ State “A” Basketball Tournament in March 2028. • BLACKFOOT COMMUNICATIONS They are interested in putting a communication center on the Civic Center’s property. Similar to the cell tower currently on the property. They said they could link into the current tower. • MONTANA HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION ZOOM MEETING Kip Ryan from the MHSA lead the meeting and discussed having policies in place at all venues where the MHSA hosts events. Discussed initiating a clear bag policy for everyone’s safety. More discussions are to come. • ENGINE 25 UPDATE The framework for the fencing and roof are going up this week. Engine 25 will also have a table at May Fair. They will be hosting another fundraiser event at the Civic Center on Saturday, August 15th. MARKETING REPORT Hoot Gibson Wrestling Banquet June 12th Butte Auto Parking Lot Sale June 8th – 17th Butte High Basketball They have booked 3 double headers along with the BHS/BC games NCAT Recycling. Labors help with this June15-16th MAYFAIR May 8-10th Mineral & Gem Show May 16-17th Roller Derby Bout May 30th Roller Derby Clinic May 31st OTHER BUSINESS • IAVM Management School – Krystal will be attending this school starting June 5th in Palm Springs. • BSB County Fair – Bill spoke with Bill Boyle and he mentioned that the Fair is possibly moving to the fair grounds. No one from the Fair Board has been in contact with the Civic Center. • Frontier 28/29 Bids – Matt Stepan submitted a bid for this event. The Civic Center was a perfect fit for this event. We will also be hosting this in 2027. • AN RI RA – requesting furniture, staging, fridge for their event at the Original August 14-16th • Concession & Box Office Cashiers Union – MPEF Union BSB has received a letter that this union wants to dis-ban. This hasn’t been in place since a union steward hasn’t been assigned.
