CalFire states that Mobile Home Parks, like ours, are at greater fire risk. Mt Washington overlooks Chateau Calistoga Seniors MBH Park. It is covered with dead standing trees, fallen trees, flammable debris with no regular maintenance scheduled. Mt Washington is owned by the City of Calistoga. It is a clear and present danger in high wind fires like the recent Tubbs and Glass Fires. I am aware that Chief Campbell has a bid for clean up. Please make sure any bid for this work follows the City of Calistoga requirements for the bidding process. This photo is NOT Mt Washington . It's a similar hill on Dunaweal Lane. Note that is has been cleaned up per CalFire recommendation. 1 Page 12 of 17 The photo below is Mt Washington, a neglected fire danger to Chateau Calistoga. Note that Mt Washington is owned by The City of Calistoga and has not been cleaned up per CalFire recommendation. Washington knowing this is an issue that has come before you and you are, I hope, actively considering solutions. As a resident of Chateau Calistoga with a view of that sweet little mountain, I am familiar with the issue at hand. I can see there are some trees that have died, whether due to disease or drought and I am also aware of the dead and dried ground cover; both of these thlngs a threat in what is now an ongoing fire season. While I am adamant about the need to protect the habitation serving all manner of winged species, it is home to other wild critters as wel1. For the safety of all living bein_gs, this mountain needs to be managed in a more efficient manner. Let's not waste time tryin_g to figure out exactly which 'pot' the money should come from, rather, make this a priority and designate the necessary funds, clearly available, for projects that are in place intended to enhance the safety and experience of visiting and living in Calistoga. Given the winds, the fires we have e~erienced since 2017 move horizontally. Left unattended, that mountain is fire fodder threatening all of Calistoga. Thankyou. Who know when the next crisis will again decimate our community? We need to be as prepared as we are able. 7 . Economic diversity--Calistoga needs more options for locals as well as tourists, such as a variety store, a stationary/printing service store, a florist shop, a candy store, a Hispanic bakery, a frame shop 12. Leaf blower help--assistance in transitioning from gas to electric leaf blowers is a boon to all Calistogans. The benefits are far more than the cost. Let's do it! 15. Decrease spending on marketing--Calistoga is on the map as a tourist attraction destination. The resorts are marketing like crazy; we don't need to duplicate what is already being done. 16. Year-round pool--YES!!! This would be a boon to locals (especially students--we could actually have a swim team!--and seniors) and tourists alike, well worth the expense. 32. Part time PD positions--YES!! Our PD personnel need to be able to take time off and know that our safety is secure. 63. Car charging station--YES!!
