MINUTES VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES – SPECIAL MEETING AMUNDSON COMMUNITY CENTER 200 SPRING ST., CAMBRIDGE, WI 53523 FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2025, 6:30 PM 1. CALL TO ORDER: President Breunig called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Members Present – Trustee Blackwood, Trustee Hollenbeck, Trustee Jacobson, Trustee Kreklau, Trustee Trendel, and President Breunig. Members Absent – Trustee Schulz Others Present - None 3. PROOF OF POSTING: Confirmed - upper and lower levels of the Amundson Center, Cambridge Post Office, Badger Bank, and the Village website. 4. President Breunig made a motion to appoint Trustee Hollenbeck as Clerk for this meeting. Motion was seconded by Trustee Blackwood. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. 5. CLOSED SESSION: Trustee Blackwood made a motion to convene into Closed Session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of public employees over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility: Personnel Discussion. President Breunig seconded the motion. Motion carried on roll call vote as follows: Yes - Trustee Blackwood, Trustee Hollenbeck, Trustee Jacobson, Trustee Kreklau, Trustee Trendel, and President Breunig. No – None. 6. RECONVENE TO OPEN SESSION: President Breunig made a motion to reconvene into Open Session. Motion was seconded by Trustee Trendel. Motion carried on roll call vote as follows: Yes - Trustee Blackwood, Trustee Hollenbeck, Trustee Jacobson, Trustee Kreklau, Trustee Trendel, and President Breunig. No – None. 7. ACTION TAKEN ON CLOSED SESSION ITEMS: A. Trustee Kreklau made a motion to terminate the employment of the Village Administrator/Treasurer/Deputy Clerk effective 12/19/2025. Trustee Blackwood seconded. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. B. Trustee Kreklau made a motion to terminate the employment of the Village Clerk/Deputy Treasurer effective 12/19/2025. Trustee Jacobson seconded. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. C. Trustee Kreklau made a motion to direct the Village Administrator to utilize PAA for Clerk/Treasurer recruitment not to exceed $10,000. Trustee Jacobson seconded. Motion carried on roll call vote as follows: Yes - Trustee Blackwood, Trustee Hollenbeck, Trustee Jacobson, Trustee Kreklau, Trustee Trendel, and President Breunig. No – None. D. Trustee Kreklau made a motion to direct the Village Administrator to procure PAA for an Interim Clerk/Treasurer. The motion was seconded by Trustee Blackwood. Motion carried on roll call vote as follows: Yes - Trustee Blackwood, Trustee Hollenbeck, Trustee Jacobson, Trustee Kreklau, Trustee Trendel, and President Breunig. No – None. E. Trustee Kreklau made a motion to direct staff to return the 2025 year-end vacation payout checks (or the monetary equivalent). The motion was seconded by Trustee Trendel. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Trustee Kreklau made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Trustee Blackwood. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. ADJOURNMENT The Village of Cambridge Board permits a period of public comment to receive information from members of the public pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.84(2). The Wisconsin Attorney General has advised that a governmental body should refrain from Board discussion on an item until specific notice of the subject matter and any proposed action has been provided. (Wisconsin Department of Justice, Wisconsin Open Meetings Law: A Compliance Guide (2009).) A quorum of the Village Board may be present to gather information related to their duties as Village Trustees; however, no official business will be conducted, and no action will be taken by the Board at this meeting.
