BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:09 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman and Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 2/23/2021 - Minutes 1. Ordinance TBD Ordinance 34/2021 Enter into the second amendment to the management agreement of the Canton Memorial Civic Center with SMG in order to extend the management expiration date to December 31, 2021, waive all management fees during the contract extension and correct a billing discrepancy that arose as a result of staffing levels during COVID-19. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced amendment. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance TBD Ordinance 35/2021 Enter into a cooperative agreement with Fresh Mark, Inc. for the relocation of existing city owned sanitary sewer that is currently located underneath a portion of the Fresh Mark facility. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced agreement. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 3. Ordinance 244/2020 Award and enter into a one (1) year contract (with the option of a 30 day extension at the sole discretion of the City) with Core & Main LP for the supply of pipe and pipe fittings; specifically bid items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 39, 40, 44, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 60, 61 and 62. Discussion: Director Highman asked if these were the only bids submitted for this contract. Katie Wise stated that a third bid packet was submitted, however it did not have an original bid bond included, which disqualifies the bid. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 244/2020  Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 244/2020 Award and enter into a one (1) year contract (with the option of a 30 day extension at the sole discretion of the City) with Trumbull Industries, Inc. for the supply of pipe and pipe fittings; specifically bid items 6, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, 33, 37, 38, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47 and 48. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Director Highman made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
