BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman was present. Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry was excused. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 3/23/2021 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 36/2018 Enter into Change Order No. 1 & Final with CT Consultants, Inc. for a cost reduction in the amount of $25,706.45 for the design services on the Fairmount Area Water Main Replacement Project, Phase II, in order to close out the project, resulting in a new contract amount of $50,293.55. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 214/2020 Enter into Change Order No. 1 with Central Allied Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $17,370.00 for the Cleveland Ave. NW Water Main Replacement Project due to a sanitary sewer repair, resulting in a new contract amount of $2,165,762.00. Discussion: Per Director Highman, the limits of this project run from 30th St. NW to the City border, on both sides of the street. The project will start on April 9th. The construction will begin at the north end of the city limits and then move south. There are less businesses and will be less disruption at the north end of the City. Starting the work there will give people a chance to get used to the idea that Cleveland Ave. will be under construction. There have been several water main leaks on Cleveland Ave. within the past few weeks. The Collection Systems Dept. will clean and televise the lines prior to the commencement of work. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 3. Ordinance 220/2020 Award and enter into a construction contract with Wenger Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $270,685.62 for the 12th St. NW Water Main Replacement Project. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
