BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry and Director of Public Service, John Highman were present. Andy Roth filled in for Board Secretary Katie Wise. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 8/22/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 37/2023 Enter into contract with Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Company, LLC for the City/County Fiber Network Project, GP1407 pursuant to the design-build selection process per ORC 153. Utilizing ARPA funds, the City’s portion of the project will cost $6,599,870.00 and the County’s portion of the project will cost $356,440.00. Discussion: Director Highman provided additional detail about the project. The County’s portion is for engineering and design only and the County will have the option to add Alternates after the engineering and design is done. Motion: Director Highman made a motion to approve the above referenced agreement. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinances 173/2021 & 5/2022 Enter into Change Order No. 1 with HM Miller Construction Co. in the amount of $45,719.91 for the Allen Ave. SE Area Sanitary Sewer and Waterline Project, GP1332 due to the relocation of unforeseen underground obstructions and for additional maintenance fees, resulting in a new contract amount of $6,216,112.41. Discussion: Director Highman provided additional information about the relocation of unforeseen underground obstructions.
