They are trying to rehabilitate them selves and need em ploym ent to stay out of trouble. Mary Bennett has been trying to unify her children for the past 6 years. Patricia Kirk states that a tree inventory is very im portant for all cities and on Septem ber 21 st, Shake-a-Leaf will have a m eeting to determ ine who does what during a tree inventory. All are invited to attend. Kevin Bass wants the grant passed for the water park to restore the neighborhood. This will let the children of W ard 4 know that they have not been left out of the redevelopm ent of the city. Rita Jam es is in support of the water park. She feels this change in the com m unity center will help with childhood obesity, drugs, HIV and m any other bad things by occupying the children. BJ Rice-Hubbard is in favor of the water park whether it is inside or outside because the Colem an Center has been an influence in her life. Her first job was at the Jackson Pool and this is an outlet for the children of the area. Carrie Brown grew up in the area and now volunteers her services at the Southeast Com m unity Center. On August 22, 2010 she participated in an event there and they enjoyed watching the children play in the sprinklers that were set up for the event. She challenges Council to m eet the com m itm ent and vote for the water park. Jon Hall has gathered 147 signatures of people that would like to see the water park exist in the 4 th W ard. He has heard that som e people would like to see the center shut down because it is a waste of taxpayer m oney but he would like all to help us. Rick Sim m ons would like to support the Colem an Center and the Urban League as these organizations have helped him becom e the person that he is today. He now works for the city and takes his son to participate in program s at the Southeast Com m unity Center. Lois DiGiacom o says a m easurem ent of a city is by how they take care of their young. Since som e of the libraries have recently closed the children need other things to do with their tim e. This park should help to rebuild the com m unity and start anew for the m iddle class black com m unity. Arnold Dick has lived in Canton all his life and has seen the black com m unity torn apart. He has worked at the Colem an Center for the last 4 years and shares his experiences with teens to try and help keep them out of trouble. The lifting of the com m unity in W ard 4 will help all of Canton to shine. The passing of this park will create jobs at the facility that are needed. Stacy Sm ith has been in California for several years but recently returned and is sad to see the Colem an Center having problem s. He spent a lot of his childhood there and feels this is not just a problem for one neighborhood but a problem for all of the kids in the city. He feels that Council should allow all children to have the opportunity to experience the changes in the center by creating a water park. Steven Eibel speaking on behalf of zoning violations for parking a truck and a trailer in front of his hom e that he uses daily for work. He feels that he is being singled out and has spoken with Lt.
