City of Cape May Planning Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, January 9, 2024 Opening: The meeting of the City of Cape May Planning Board was called to order by Chairperson Bill Bezaire at 6:34 PM in the City Hall Auditorium. In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice was provided. Reorganization: Oaths of Office: Members with expiring terms and new members Marissa McCorkel and Dennis Crippen took the Oath of Office as administered by Board Solicitor King. Election of Chairperson: Motion made by Mr. Gorgone to appoint William Bezaire as Chairperson of the Board, seconded by Mr. Padussis and carried 7-0. Those in favor: Ms. McCorkel, Mr. Crowley, Mr. Gorgone, Mr. Lundholm, Mrs. Reed, Councilmember Yeager, Mr. Padussis. Those opposing: None. Those abstaining: Mr. Bezaire. Election of Vice Chairperson: Motion made by Mr. Gorgone to appoint Michael Jones as Vice Chairperson of the Board, seconded by Councilmember Yeager and carried 8-0. Appointment of Board Engineer/Planner: Motion made by Mr. Crowley to appoint Craig R. Hurless of Polistina & Associates as Engineer and Planner to the Board, seconded by Mr. Gorgone and carried 8-0. Conceptual Review Committee: Motion made by Councilmember Yeager to appoint Mr. Bezaire, Mr. Gorgone, Mr. Crowley and Mr. Jones to serve on the Conceptual Review Committee, seconded by Mr. Lundholm and carried 8-0. Adoption of Meeting Dates and Time for 2024: Motion made by Mr. Crowley to adopt the Planning Board 2024 meeting dates and 6:30 PM start time, seconded by Mr. Gorgone and carried 8-0. Designation of Official Newspapers for Public Notice: Motion made by Mr. Gorgone to designate Cape May County Herald (primary) and the Press of Atlantic City (secondary) as official newspapers for public noticing purposes, seconded by Mr. Padussis and carried 9-0. Those in favor: Ms. McCorkel, Mr. Crowley, Mr. Gorgone, Mr. Lundholm, Mrs. Reed, Councilmember Yeager, Mr. Padussis, Mr. Crippen, Mr. Bezaire. Those opposing: None. Those abstaining: None. Resolutions: Motion made by Mr. Gorgone adopt Resolution number 01-09-2024: 1, appointing the Planning Board Attorney, seconded by Mrs. Reed and carried 9-0. Motion made by Mr. Gorgone to adopt Resolution number 01-09-2024: 3, Mitchell Boettcher and Gaye Pessolano, 1209 Lafayette Street, Block 1062 Lot(s) 83.02, seconded by Councilmember Yeager and carried 6-0. Minutes: Motion made by Mr. Padussis to approve the meeting minutes of December 12, 2023, as amended, seconded by Councilmember Yeager and carried 7-0. Discussion: Payment of Bills Member Crowley asked that future billing include a designation of the source of funding for payments: escrow accounts or city budget accounts. Motion made by Councilmember Yeager to approve the payment of bills, seconded by Mr. Crowley and carried 7-0.
