City of Cape May Planning Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, May 23, 2023 Opening: The meeting of the City of Cape May Planning Board was called to order by Chairperson Bill Bezaire at 6:30 PM in the City Hall Auditorium. In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice was provided. Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call: Mr. Bezaire, Chairperson Present Mr. Jones, Vice Chairperson Present Mr. Crowley Present Mr. Gorgone Absent Mr. Lundholm Present Mayor Mullock Present Mrs. Reed Present Councilmember Yeager Absent Vacant --------- Mr. Maloy Alt # 1 Present Mr. Padussis Alt # 2 Present Also Present: Richard King, Esquire, Board Solicitor Craig Hurless, Board Engineer and Planner Karen Keenan, Board Secretary Resolution(s): Motion made by Mr. Crowley to adopt Resolution number 05-23-2023: 1, Recommendation for Implementation – Changes in the City’s Master Plan, Development Regulations, and Zoning Map – Land Use Element, seconded by Mr. Jones and carried 8-0. Those in favor: Mayor Mullock, Mrs. Reed, Mr. Crowley, Mr. Lundholm, Mr. Maloy, Mr. Padussis, Mr. Jones, Mr. Bezaire. Those opposing: None. Those abstaining: None. Minutes: Motion made by Mr. Crowley to approve the meeting minutes of April 11, 2023, seconded by Mr. Maloy and carried 6-0. Those in favor: Mayor Mullock, Mr. Crowley, Mr. Maloy, Mr. Padussis, Mr. Jones, Mr. Bezaire. Those opposing: None. Those abstaining: Mrs. Reed, Mr. Lundholm. City of Cape May Planning Board Meeting Minutes, May 23, 2023 1 Discussion: Master Plan Consistency Review of the Historic Preservation Commission 186 Property Reports of Structures According to §525-36(C) of the City of Cape May Code and Associated with the Cape May Historic District Survey Grant HE20-003 Chairperson Bezaire shared that Historic Preservation Commission Chairperson Warren Coupland was present to answer any questions regarding the property reports. Motion made by Mr. Jones to adopt the Historic Preservation Commission 186 Property Reports of Structures as consistent with the City’s Master Plan, seconded by Mr. Lundholm and carried 8-0. Those in favor: Mayor Mullock, Mrs. Reed, Mr. Crowley, Mr. Lundholm, Mr. Maloy, Mr. Padussis, Mr. Jones, Mr. Bezaire. Those opposing: None. Those abstaining: None. Solicitor King will prepare a resolution to be sent to City Council. Recommended for Implementation - Changes in the City's Master Plan, Development Regulations, and Zoning Map - Land Use Element Chairperson Bezaire advised that discussion regarding changes recommended in the Master Plan will continue. Member Crowley asked that recommendations 2, 3, 4, 5 and 17 relating to affordable housing could be reviewed next by Engineer and Planner Hurless. There was no public present for comment.
