OLD BUSINESS: Mike Jones-Planning Board • No updates from last meeting Councilmember Bodnar- City Council • City Council passes a bond ordinance for the sea wall project. • City received FEMA award toward the sea wall project. • Spoke about the water sustainability presentation by The University of Columbia and how well it was received. • Resolution was passed for the USS Jacob Jones project and can move forward with approval. Paul Dietrich- City Manager • Discussed the landscaping plans for the USS Jacob Jones project and how it was part of the DEP permit. • Harbor View Park update. Justine Gaver-Magariel • Climate School update. • Public Art campaign update and grants. • Water conservation community engagement update. • Climate School phase 2 of historic preservation cost line resilience update. • The Environmental Commission will help in smaller groups with Climate School projects. • Compost project and would like to proceed. David Scheffler • Monarch Fest donation request. NEW BUSINESS OPEN TO PUBLIC • No Comments. DISCUSSION: Charlotte Todd • History of Earth Day. • Suggest a monarch butterfly protection ordinance. • Pesticides free campaign. Gretchen Whitman • Star and Wave article update. • Programming for 2026 brainstorming request. • Park signage project request.
