MINUTES:
The minutes from November 26th, 2024- Randell Nuschke made the motion, Gretchen Whitman seconded, all
approved with no changes.
OLD BUSINESS:
Mike Jones-Planning Board
• New approved parking plan, no more plans.
Councilmember Bodnar- City Council
• Introduction.
• Lafayette Street Park nature trail update, excellent progress being made.
o Nature Trail plan is available on the City of Cape May’s website.
• A discussion on the plastic dust ordinance proposing an amendment on this ordinance.
o Environmental Commission members had questions about how this ordinance will be enforced.
NEW BUSINESS
Gretchen Whitman- The Cape May Garden Club would like to partner with the Cape May Environmental Club
on an ANJEC grant focusing on the water tower garden project.
City Manager Paul Dietrich- City turf ordinance update, city commissions will meet quarterly to discuss
updates and code enforcement.

DISCUSSION:
Justine Gaver-Margiel- Presented water audit and survey draft, feedback from Environmental Commission on
water audit and survey draft, orientation meeting for audit participants is scheduled for 2/13/2025. Water audit
packets can be picked up at Cape May Convention Hall and participant information left with Environmental
Commission secretary and Recreation Director David Scheffler.
Charlotte Todd- Recommended the Nature Center of Cape May to lead programs after the opening of the
Lafayette Street trail.
ADUOURNMENT:
A motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:00 p.m. Next meeting is Tuesday, February 28th, 2025, at 11 a.m.
in Cape May City Hall auditorium.
