City of Cape May Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting Minutes Thursday, December 17, 2020 Opening The meeting of the City of Cape May Zoning Board of Adjustment was called to order by Chairperson Diane Hutchinson at 6:03 PM virtually via Zoom and streamed live on Facebook. In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice was provided. Roll Call Mrs. Hutchinson, Chairperson Present Mr. Murray, Vice Chairperson Present Mr. Iurato Absent Mrs. Werner Present Ms. Hesel Absent Mr. Van de Vaarst Present Mrs. Lukens Present Mrs. Nelson (Alt. 1) Present Mr. Walsh (Alt. 2) Present Also Present Richard King, Board Solicitor Craig Hurless, Board Engineer Karen Keenan, Board Assistant Minutes Motion was made by Mr. Murray to adopt the meeting minutes of November 12, 2020, September 29, 2020 and October 22, 2020, seconded by Mr. Van de Vaarst and carried 6-0. Those in favor: Mrs. Werner, Mr. Van de Vaarst, Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Walsh, Mr. Murray, Mrs. Hutchinson. Those opposed: None. Those abstaining: Mrs. Lukens. Application(s) Lisa Stroud 227 Grant Street Block 1022, Lot(s) 32 & 33 Board Solicitor King explained to the Board that this property is directly behind his second home and that there are likely objectors, including him, to this application. He added that William Kaufmann, Esq. will serve as Board Attorney for this application. Solicitor King said that Attorney for the Applicant, Robert Belasco, Esq., has asked for an adjournment to allow any objector(s) to prepare for the hearing of the application. Chairperson Hutchinson agreed to the adjournment of the application, and Solicitor King announced that the application will be adjourned to the January 28, 2021 6:00 PM virtual meeting with instructions for participation at the meeting to be posted on the City website. He added that no other published notice for the meeting will be required. ==================================================================== City of Cape May Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting Minutes - December 17, 2020 - Page 1 Irvin and Lucinda Hess 1249 Lafayette Street Block 1061, Lot(s) 95 & 96 Solicitor King advised the Board that, as the applicant and objector are trying to resolve their issues, an adjournment of this application has been requested with Attorneys Robert Sandman for the applicant, Richard Hoff, Jr. for the objector, and Chairperson Hutchinson all in agreement supporting the adjournment. Solicitor King announced the application is adjourned to the January 28, 2021 virtual meeting at 6:00 PM with no further published notice required regarding the hearing of this application. Discussion Member Walsh and Vice Chairperson Murray stated that they did not see the adjacent property owner list in the Stroud application packet. It was decided that the Board Secretary will send the list via email to the members after the meeting. Open to Public Discussion was opened to the public at 6:12 PM and closed at 6:15 PM with no public coming forward to comment. Motion made by Vice Chairperson Murray to adjourn the meeting at 6:19 PM with all in favor.
