Minutes for Cape May Bike & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BAPAC) DATE: March 23, 2022 TIME: 4:37 pm LOCATION: City Hall IN ATTENDENCE:  Members: Terry DiUbaldi (via phone), Hilary Pritchard, Holly Tilford (Chairperson), Jeff Vecere, Mike Yeager (City Council Rep).  Other Attendee(s): none PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE OLD BUSINESS:  Report from Councilman Yeager o Lafayette Street drop off area of Elementary School:  In order for project to move forward, the city will forgo state aid; plans by late spring, work to start late fall, maybe sooner. This pertains only to bump out?  Concerns by BAPAC, again, is the area of Lafayette/Madison intersection, as well as the entrance to the parking lot.  Is this not part of SRTS?  What is the striping at these 3 key areas? (Green boxes, sharrows, sidewalk etc.) o Latest report is that outdoor dining will resume pre-covid. (Decatur opens back up.)  Updates: o U-bike racks & Repair station installed in front of convention ctr. In process is further installation of racks around town. o Jeff distributed more maps at Parkway Rest Stop, as requested. BAPAC will distribute rest in town after May meeting. NEW BUSINESS:  New law, only one in nation, to require 4’ distance between biker and vehicles.  Press release: $16.5M Safe Streets to Transit, Bikeways ACTION ITEMS:  Councilman Yeager o Obtain plans:  Bump out area on Lafayette St at school for BAPAC review.  Beach Ave signage and pavement markings o Will obtain info on budget amount for BAPAC projects; what was spent in 2021 and currently? o Will convey to council bike and pedestrian concerns around new location of Police Station.  Holly will contact Steve Chiaramonte BIKEWALKCAPEMAY to re-address report (including Beach Ave) and adding new extention to report to include Lafayette St area by park and route toward West Cape May (Elmira, Bank, St. John, etc).  Terry will follow up with state on new law of Four Foot distance for bike and vehicle; signage etc.  Jeff will contact Eric PW and advise placement of sharrows (and signage?) around mall area.
