Absent: Jim Moffatt (vacation)
Other: Police Chief Fashaw, Deputy City Manager Lou Belasco
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motioned to approve. Seconded. Approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Road report (Lou Belasco) on imminent and ongoing road work
o Current Plans
Pittsburgh Ave markings
Lafayette, 2 segments (Colliers Liquor store area and school bump in over spring holiday)
Beach Ave awarded. 2 phases (Wilm-Mad, Mad-Broadway). Time tbd (non-season)
Safe Route to School: County
PA Ave - Ps6, 7:
Madison: BAPAC expressed concern about narrow Madison and Lafayette
intersection
o Sharrows
o Green Boxes
o Lafayette St Park: Housing Authority and coordination with county, city
Maps: QR Code, Wendy. Hilary. Will meet to review improvements, eliminating bldgs and concentrate on
safety notes.
Safety Officer : Chief suggests to have Class 2 officer(s) concentrate on issues of education and
enforcement. BAPAC strongly recommends these specific duties assigned, going forward.
NEW BUSINESS:
Roads to Safety Grant
o RFP, Holly will draft recommendation for resolution for BAPAC participation on safety
improvement grant.
o Action Plan, then Implementation (another grant?)
o Delicate conversation with county, hoping to add some improvements post-paving Lafayette St,
e.g.., HAWK at Lafayette/Decateur/Bank.
o BAPAC recommends addressing continuation and improvement of 2007(?) CAPE MAY BIKE
WALK report, with cooperation with W Cape May and adding other side of Lafayette (Bank,
Elmira, St John etc)
o Wayfaring (Hilary)
Elmira St - Needed repaving Elmira after ACE job completed; speed bumps? Can ACE cover some costs?
