Recommendation: A closed session will be held, pursuant to Government Code
Section 54956.9(d) (1), to confer with legal counsel regarding
pending litigation to which the City is a party. The title of such

pending litigation to which the City is a party. The title of such

Item No. 5. 2016-1235 CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR (CITY
COUNCIL)
Recommendation: A closed session will be held, pursuant to Government Code
Section 54957.6, with Kenneth C. Farfsing, City Manager,
Sunny Soltani, City Attorney and Gail Dixon-McMahon, Director
of Human Resources, its negotiators(s), regarding labor
negotiations with AFSCME Local 809, AFSCME local 1017,
CPSA and AME.

MODIFICATION AT THE I-405 FREEWAY (CITY
COUNCIL)
Recommendation: TAKE the following actions:
1. APPROVE Amendment No. 5 to the Memorandum of
Understanding between Los Angeles County Metropolitan
Transportation Authority and the City of Carson for Project No.
919: Wilmington Avenue Interchange Modification at the I-405
Freeway, in a form substantial similar to the attached draft, and
subject to review, negotiation and final approval by the City
Attorney.
2. AUTHORIZE the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 5 to the
Memorandum of Understanding between the Los Angeles
County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the City of
Carson following approval as to form by the City Attorney.

Item No. 17. 2016-1242 CONSIDER EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT FOR
LANDSCAPED MEDIAN MAINTENANCE SERVICES
TO THE CITY (CITY COUNCIL)
Recommendation: TAKE the following actions:
1. APPROVE the extension of the agreement for landscaped
median maintenance services with Swayzer Corporation for an
additional 90 days, January 1, 2017 through March 31, 2017 at
a cost of $15,125 per month.
2. AUTHORIZE the Mayor to execute the contract amendment
with Swayzer Corporation, following approval as to form by the
City Attorney.
