Three or more Council members may also attend this meeting, during which the items listed herein will be discussed. ** ALL TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE ** DINNER FOR BOARD MEMBERS CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Chair Teem called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Present 5 - Kevin McNeill, Scott Vencill, Chris Teem, Ziggy Guetensberger, and Scott Amaral Attendance 2 - Sandra Aguilar, and Joseph Montoya CERTIFICATION OF MEETING Chief Building Official Joseph Montoya confirmed that the notice of this meeting and the agenda had been posted and witnessed in accordance with the Open Meetings Law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES BOBA December 3, 2018 Board of Building Appeals Meeting Minutes 2019-001 Board Member McNeill motioned to approve the December 3, 2018 minutes as written. Board Member Guetensberger seconded the motion. Passed: 5-0 Yes: 5 - McNeill, Vencill, Teem, Guetensberger, and Amaral UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES None TOWN COUNCIL UPDATE None BOARD MEMBER ITEMS None Board of Building Appeals Meeting Minutes - Final March 4, 2019 ITEMS FROM STAFF 1) Chief Building Official Joseph Montoya introduced the new Recording Secretary, Sandra Aguilar. 2) The topic at the upcoming contractors luncheon is the Code Adoption. The First Reading by Town Council will be moved to May with adoption expected by July 1. Staff is looking at other communities adopting similar codes so communities within the County have similar codes. Title 15 is dealing with fire sprinkler revision and unfinished unsecured basements. Developers have 180 days build off of existing plans before they will be required to go to new code. 3) Mr. Montoya mentioned the Colorado Chapter of International Code Council is having their educational institute at the Denver Mariott in DTC with more than 1800 students attending. Mr. Montoya is teaching some of those classes and all of the Town's inspectors go to this training. 4) Mr. Montoya provided some updates for development around Town including Whole Foods, Chick-fil-A and La Loma are all near completion in The Promenade. The Collaboration Campus is near completion and the Castle Rock Economic Development Council toured this facility. Riverwalk is wrapping up some inspections and has gained a TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.) The Grand Opening for Ecclesia has a deferred TCO as the newly required sprinkler system is not yet complete. This business, in the old church on Perry St., will provide food and drink for sale from multiple vendors under one roof. The TCO is only allowing 99 occupants until completion of the sprinkler system. 5) Mr. Montoya reviewed the board members terms. Kevin McNeill is terming out in May and must wait 4 years before reapplying; however he is encouraged to apply to other commissions and boards in Town. Scott Vencill is eligible for a 2nd term, Scott Amaral is eligible for a 2nd term, and Ziggy Guentensberger is eligible for a 3rd term. Each are encouraged to reapply.
