ROLL CALL Present 4 - Christopher Hovanetz, Dave Perry, Ziggy Guetensberger, and Richard Morton Not Present 1 - Scott Amaral Attendance 2 - Joseph Montoya, and Sandra Aguilar CERTIFICATION OF MEETING Recording Secretary, Sandra Aguilar, confirmed that the notice of this meeting and the agenda had been posted and witnessed in accordance with the Open Meetings Law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES BOBA June 3, 2019 Board of Building Appeals Meeting Minutes 2019-004 Moved by Hovanetz, seconded by Perry, that the BOBA minutes of the June 3, 2019 meeting be approved as written. The motion passed: 4-0 Yes: 4 - Hovanetz, Perry, Guetensberger, and Morton Not Present: 1 - Amaral ELECTION OF OFFICERS, ETC. BOBA Board of Building Appeals - Election of Officers 2019-005 Morton nominated and moved to accept Ziggy Guetensberger as Chair of the BOBA. The motion passed: 4-0 Board of Building Appeals Meeting Minutes - Final September 9, 2019 Yes: 4 - Hovanetz, Perry, Guetensberger, and Morton Not Present: 1 - Amaral Guetensberger nominated and moved to accept Chris Hovanetz as Vice Chair of the BOBA. The motion passed: 4-0 UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES None BOARD MEMBER ITEMS None TOWN COUNCIL UPDATE None ITEMS FROM STAFF A. Chief Building Official's Update Joseph Montoya, Chief Building Official, discussed that Town Council recently adopted the building codes for the Town of Castle Rock, bringing them in line with the State's 2018 standards. These changes went into effect Aug. 1, 2019. Builders with existing projects have until Jan. 1, 2020 to come into compliance. Given other communities have these same or similar codes, the builders are usually already in compliance. Montoya recommended the Board review the Development Services Monthly Report which provides the numbers and types of permits, as well as many other planning and building information from the Town. Montoya invited the Board to attend any of the monthly Contractor's Luncheons, with the next one on Wednesday, Sept. 11. These meetings are an effective and collaborative way for communication between the Town Staff and the building community. The meetings are held every month except July and December.
