Cedar Falls Planning and Zoning Commission Regular Meeting July 9, 2025 Cedar Falls, Iowa MINUTES The Cedar Falls Planning and Zoning Commission met in regular session on July 9, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The following Commission members were present: Alberhasky, Henderson, Johnson, Moser, Sorensen and Watkins. Grybovych, Hartley and Stalnaker were absent. Karen Howard, Planning and Community Services Manager and Michelle Pezley, Planner III were also present. 1.) Acting Chair Alberhasky noted the Minutes from the June 25, 2025 regular meeting are presented. Sorensen made a motion to approve the Minutes as presented. Henderson seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously with 6 ayes (Alberhasky, Henderson, Johnson, Moser, Sorensen and Watkins), and 0 nays. 2.) The only item of business was the presentation of the Public Review Draft of the Parks Master Plan. Jody Rader, HKGi consultant for the Parks Master Plan project provided details regarding the proposed plan and discussed the schedule and phases of the project. She spoke about draft plan elements and the public outreach for the project. She noted that there will be additional opportunities for public input and noted the upcoming public open house on the evening of July 17th to be held in the foyer outside the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Rita Trapp, HKGi consultant then provided an overview of the approach for drafting a park dedication ordinance and discussed the next steps in the process. The consultants were available to answer questions. 3.) As there were no further comments, Sorensen made a motion to adjourn. Johnson seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously with 6 ayes (Alberhasky, Henderson, Johnson, Moser, Sorensen and Watkins), and 0 nays.
