MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL CITY COUNCIL Regular City Council Meeting 6:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2021 A Regular Meeting of the City Council was held virtually in Centennial, Colorado. A full and timely notice of this meeting had been posted and a quorum was present. 1 Call to Order Mayor Piko called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 2 Roll Call Those present were: Mayor Piko Council Member Moon Council Member Sweetland Council Member Maurer Council Member Sutherland Council Member Holt Council Member Alston Council Member Turley Council Member Sheehan Those absent were: None Also present were: Matt Sturgeon, City Manager Robert Widner, City Attorney Maureen Juran, Deputy City Attorney Eric Eddy, Assistant City Manager Wyatt Peterson, Senior Management Analyst Allison Wittern, Director of Communications Neil Marciniak, Economic Development Director Ryan Thompson, Neighborhood Services Manager Jeff Cadiz, Revenue Manager Doug Farmen, Director of Finance Steve Greer, Director of Community Development Barbara Setterlind, City Clerk Christina Cooney, Deputy City Clerk 3 Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Piko Led the Pledge of Allegiance. 4 Public Comment (None) Minutes – Regular City Council Meeting 1/4/2021 6:00:00 PM Page 2 5 Scheduled Presentations a Tri-County Health Department - COVID19 Update; 6:05 PM Dr. Bernadette Albanese, Medical Epidemiologist with Tri-County Health Department, and Nate Fogg, Emergency Manager with ACSO, presented. b Five-Star Recovery Partner Program Discussion; 7:14 PM Steve Greer, Director of Community Development, presented. 6 Consideration of Communications, Proclamations and Appointments (None) 7 Executive Session Council Member Sutherland moved to go into Executive Session Pursuant to CRS Section 24- 6-402(34)(e) with the City Attorney for Legal Advice and to Answer Legal Questions Related to the Standardized Sales Tax Definitions Adoption Project AND Executive Session Pursuant to C.R.S. §24-6-402(4)(b) to Receive Legal Advice Concerning the Formation of a Metropolitan District. Council Member Alston seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Moon, Council Member Turley, Council Member Alston, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Sweetland, Council Member Holt voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 0. THE MOTION Passed. a Executive Session Pursuant to CRS Section 24-6-402(34)(e) with the City Attorney for Legal Advice and to Answer Legal Questions Related to the Standardized Sales Tax Definitions Adoption Project b Executive Session Pursuant to C.R.S. §24-6-402(4)(b) to Receive Legal Advice Concerning the Formation of a Metropolitan District. CONSENT AGENDA Council Member Sutherland moved to Approve CONSENT AGENDA. Council Member Maurer seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Moon, Council Member Turley, Council Member Alston, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Sweetland, Council Member Holt voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 0. Citizens will have three minutes for comments if they are speaking as an individual, or five minutes if speaking on behalf of a group or organization. These time limits were established to provide efficiency in the conduct of the meeting and to allow equal opportunity for everyone wishing to speak. An immediate response should not be expected, as issues are typically referred to City staff for follow-up or research and are then reported back to Council and the individual who initiated the comment or inquiry. Written materials for presentation to Council may be submitted to the City Clerk as the speaker approaches the podium.
