MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL CITY COUNCIL Regular City Council Meeting 7:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2019 A Regular Meeting of the City Council was held on this date in the Council Chambers at 13133 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, Colorado. CONSENT AGENDA Mayor Piko requested to move item 8.a. Resolution No. 2012-R-43 to the Discussion Agenda. Council Member Moon requested to move item 7.a. Ordinance No. 2019-O-24 to the Discussion Agenda. Council Member Weidmann requested to move item 7.b. Ordinance No. 2019-O-25 to the Discussion Agenda. Council Member Penaloza moved to Approve CONSENT AGENDA, excluding Resolution No. 2019-R-44, Ordinance No. 2019-O-24 and Ordinance No. 2019-O-25 which were requested to be moved to the Discussion Agenda. Council Member Maurer seconded the motion. Council Member Penaloza moved to Approve ORDINANCE NO. 2019-O-23 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, ADDING A NEW ARTICLE 15 TO CHAPTER 10 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT LITTERING AND SETTING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF. The Motion Carried. Council Member Moon moved to DIRECT OUR REPRESENTATIVE OF DRCOG TO TAKE A POSITION IN SUPPORT OF CC. Council Member Maurer second the motion. With Council Member Moon, Council Member Alston, Council Member Maurer, Sutherland and Council Member Weidmann voting AYE (5), and Mayor Piko, Council Member Lucas, Council Member Penaloza and Council Member Turley voting NAY (4). THE MOTION Passed. Consensus was to direct staff to bring back resolutions in support and opposition to Ballot Issue 1A for further discussion on the Regular Meeting on October 7, 2019. Council Member Weidmann moved to DIRECT STAFF TO DEVELOP A NEEDS ASSESMENT FOR A NEW COUNCIL CHAMBERS INCLUDING ON-GOING NEEDS OF THE CIVIC CENTER BUILDING. Council Member Alston seconded the motion. With Council Member Alston and Council Member Weidmann voting AYE (2), and Mayor Piko, Council Member Lucas, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Moon, Council Member Turley and Council Member Penaloza voting NAY (7).
