MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL CITY COUNCIL Study Session 6:00 PM Monday, April 11, 2016 A Study Session of the City Council was held on this date in the City Council Chambers at 13133 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, Colorado. A full and timely notice of this meeting had been posted and a quorum was present. A. Call to Order Mayor Noon called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM. B. Roll Call Those present were: Mayor Noon Council Member Turley Council Member Moon Council Member Piko Council Member Lucas Council Member Truhlar Council Member Gotto Council Member Whelan Council Member Penaloza Those absent were: None Also present were: John Danielson, City Manager Maureen Juran, Deputy City Attorney Elisha Thomas, Deputy City Manager Andy Firestine, Assistant City Manager Sherri Chadwick, Director of Communications Kelly Brady, Commissions Coordinator Tamara Gregory, Code Compliance Manager Derek Holcomb, Planning and Engineering Manager Shirley Berg, Building Services Director Michael Gradis, Planner II Daniel Krzyzanowski, Principal Planner Barbara Setterlind, City Clerk Ebony Vivens, Deputy City Clerk C. Youth Achievement Awards; 6:04 PM Commissioner Maben, Youth Commission, presented Youth Achievement Awards to Centennial area students: Brittany Berglund, Haylee Blach, Nicholas Harguth-Galyas, Lucy Lawrence, Dylan Van Denend and Abigail Wist. Minutes – Study Session April 11, 2016 Page 2 D. Law Enforcement Update; 6:12 PM Sherriff Walcher, Arapahoe County Sheriffs, presented E. Changes to the Home Improvement Program (HIP) Update; 6:16 PM Andy Firestine, Assistant City Manager and Shirley Berg, Building Services Manager Safe Built, presented. Consensus was to proceed with the program as presented and to bring back in 2017 for further review. F. Splash Pad Changing Rooms - Civic Center Park Update; 6:59 PM Andy Firestine, Assistant City Manager, presented. Consensus was to install the changing rooms for 2016 and to further look at an additional restroom construction for 2017. G. Proposed Land Development Code Amendment to Permit Accessory Structures Used For Protection of Vehicle Sales and Rental Inventory (“Hail Canopies”) Update; 7:15 PM Derek Holcomb, Planning and Engineering Manager, presented. Randy Pye, FulcrumOne, Wade White, USA Shade and Fabric, and Dennis Royer, Adriane Paraschiv, and Mike Fitzpatrick, representing Auto Nation, appeared and answered questions from Council. Consensus was to proceed with an Ordinance, with Public Hearing on May 16, 2016. H. Adjourn There being no further business to discuss, the Study Session was adjourned at 9:04 PM.
