VILLAGE OF CHAGRIN FALLS ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW APRIL 4, 2023 Meeting Called to Order 8:30 A M. . Members Present: Bill Childs, George Clemens, Phil Koepf, Janna Lutz, Wendy Naylor (Steve King, absent ) Also Present: Dominic Cribari, Joan Andersen 1. Schaumburg 115 East Washington Street Fence-Final Don Simpson ( Auburn Fence ) said he went back to his client, and they want the 42" fence since they have small children and a dog. He said that the fence is a legal height, and the same type of fence is already in the neighborhood across the street. Clemens said he doesn't have a problem with the forty- two-inch fence and would recommend approving it. Lutz said the same style fence already exists around the neighborhood. Clemens said its not obstructing the traffic view and Koepf agreed. Summation-motion by Naylor, seconded by Lutz to revise the motion from the March 21, 2023, meeting and approve the forty-two-inch fence. Roll Call: Childs-yea, Lutz-yea, Naylor-yea. Motion passed. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Naylor, seconded by Childs to approve the minutes of the March 21, 2023, meeting with the revision to the 115 East Washington Street fence updated to approve a forty-two-inch fence. Roll Call: Lutz-abstain, Childs-yea, Naylor-yea. Motion passed. 2. Ohio Personal Trainers 13 West Orange Street Signage Brian Becker ( Becker Signs) said that the company is becoming independent, so they are replacing their signs to reflect the new name. He said that the signs are zone approved. He said that they are going to clean and patch the holes in the wall where the old sign is before replacing them. Summation-motion by Naylor, seconded by Lutz for final approval of plans as presented. Roll Call: Lutz- yea, Childs-yea, Naylor-yea. Motion passed. 3. Norris 195 South Main Exterior Alterations- Preliminary Brian Norris (Homeowner) presented plans for this project. He said they want to expand the front porch to something they can sit out on and enjoy. He said they are also going to bring it out a little further. Naylor asked if the front would have lattice and said to make it a little narrower. Koepf said the drawings do not look like they represent the grade. Clemens said that the design drawings need to be signed by a licensed architect. Childs said that he needs to clean up the entablatures and to line them up with the columns. He said it would make it cleaner. Clemens said he thought turn post columns would be a better shape for this house. He said it is square on the top and bottom and turned in the middle. He said to make the roof a little bigger, suggested 9ft. in depth and to pull things in a little. Koepf said to clean up the corner boards a little. Naylor said when they put the stairs in, they need to make them the width between columns. 4-18-23
