The City of Chandler Parks and Recreation Board met for a special scheduled meeting on
Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Winchester Park Grand Pavilion. Rick Ford called the meeting to
order at 6:00 p.m.
Meeting called to order by Rick Ford at 6:10 pm.
Rick opened with a prayer.
Roll call by Kari Bersano
Those present: Rick Ford, Nancy Bertholf, Kim Fleming, Libby Fulgham, Ann Hall, Kenny Knable & Kari
Bersano.
Discussion ensued about the Boys 12U District Tournament (July 11-15) :
* There will be 14 teams and we will play on Fields 2,4 & 5, games will be played with 2 hour limits.
* Expenses: Umpires $1530, Trophies $500, $30 a game for score keepers & book keepers. T-shirts will be
prepay by teams and will sell some extra ones. There will be 3 points of entrance to the park and hope to have
volunteers at each one.
*Hope to have Face Painting & David the "Bling" selling guy.
* Ann Hall will find and purchase water coolers for each dugout for the District and State Tournaments. (8)
Discussion about Boys 6U State Tournament (July 24-29):
* They will use Fields 1,3,4 &5 with a 1-hour time limit, 14 teams (12 kids per team).
* We will have the Sky Jump vender
* Goodie bags and lanyards/ name tags will be provided by the EDC with the "City Hall ladies" assembling.
* Opening Ceremony will have hot dogs & slushee for each player and sell hot dogs for family members. It will
be Sunday between 5-6pmbefore the start of tournament on Monday. Need someone to sing National Anthem,
Kari to ask Hannah Cook.
* Kim & Rick to get man power for the volunteer’s spots, order t-shirts & trophies.
* Kim & Nancy to coordinate program & advertising.
* Parking will be $10 per car, not charging per person. Park will be closed to public during both Tournaments.
* Will try to get Cooling Trailers, to ask Jim Moffeit.
* Ann Hall to get the water coolers for each dugout (8).
* Possibly get Gina & Andy Tucker to be photographer.
It was discussed and agreed upon to give each local Chandler team $400 that is going to State.
