A. Call to Order
Diane Vanderkooy called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

Present: Terry Woods; Jared Koester; Diane Vanderkooy
Absent: No one
Others Present: Chief Vern Foli; Village Attorney Lisa Petrilli; Village Clerk Dan Holden
4. Public Comments Agenda Topics
There were no Public Comments on Agenda Topics during this meeting.
B. Consent Agenda
1. Approve Minutes from the Fire and Police Commission August 14, 2024 Meeting
A motion was made by Jared Koester to bring the Consent Agenda to the table for discussion.
This motion was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative voice vote of the members
present, the motion passed and the Consent Agenda was approved.
C. Old Business
There was no Old Business discussed at this meeting.
D. New Business
1. Release from Probationary Status
A motion was made by Terry Woods to notify Officer David Toledo that effective 11/08/24 his
probationary status as a new officer with Chatham Police Department has been lifted and that
he is considered a full status. This motion was seconded by Jared Koester. By an affirmative
voice vote of the members present, the motion passed.
2. Sergeant Testing
There are five people eligible to test for Sergeant. Of those 5, 3 have committed to testing.
The test date is Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.
3. New Officer Eligibility List
Testing was held on 11/17/24. 7 people responded to the invitation to test. 3 people showed up
to test. 1 disqualified from the test. 1 failed both parts of the testing. 1 candidate passed the
requirements of the testing process.
-Test again in February/March 2025
- March 9, 2025 testing date
-February 24, 2025 is the deadline for submitting applications
-Lateral Transfer date
March 3, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.

4. Rule Changes
The Police Commission members had a discussion about updating the Police Commission
Rules.

A motion was made by Diane Vanderkooy to approve the amendments to Article 3, Section 9 of
the Police Commission Rules. This was unanimously approved by a voice vote of the
Commission members.

There was no additional discussion or comments from Chief Foli.
7. Public Comments Village Business
There were no Public Comments regarding village business at this meeting.
E. Meeting Dates

A motion was made by Diane Vanderkooy to approve the Meeting Dates for 2025. This motion
was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the
motion passed.
F. Closed Session

2. Selection/Discipline/Removal of Appointed Officers 2(c)(3)
There was no need for Closed Session during this meeting.
G. Closing
1. Adjournment
A motion was made by Diane Vanderkooy to adjourn the Police Commission meeting. This
motion was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative vote of the members present, the
motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
