CHESAPEAKE INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES August 14, 2023 PRESENT Robert Rabuse, Vice Chairman Terri McManus, Secretary Brian Cuffie Mark Davis Melissa Gilliam (via Teams) Camille Lewis Chrissy Nieves Jennifer Stafford (via Teams) ABSENT Ayisha Buggs Justin Fernheimer Jennifer Stafford STAFF PRESENT Amy Blondell, Administrative Coordinator (via Teams) Ray Cruz, MIS Administrator Ed Gonzalez, Executive Director Shaunita Lassiter, Office Coordinator Alfredo Soto, Medical Director (via Teams) CALL TO ORDER Robert Rabuse called the meeting to order at 5:06 p.m. INVOCATION The invocation was led by Ed Gonzalez. CONSENT AGENDA CONSENT AGENDA A. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 07-10-2023 Meeting Terri McManus made a motion, to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Mark Davis seconded. The motion passed. CIBH MINUTES 08-14-2023 PAGE 1 OF 3 PUBLIC COMMENT None. COMMITTEE REPORT A. Administration and Finance Committee The Committee recommends full board approval of the fiscal year 2024 Performance Con- tract and Budget. The Board will vote on the Committee’s recommendation at the September meeting. NEW BUSINESS A. Election of Chairperson Deferred to the September meeting. B. October Board Meeting Date Due to the Columbus Day holiday, the October meeting will be held on Monday October 16. REGULAR AGENDA A. Mission and Vision Statements The updated mission and visions statements were presented to the Board. MISSION STATEMENT: Partnering with individuals, families, and the community in pursuit of healthier, fulfilling lives. VISION STATEMENT: CIBH envisions a community where people are celebrated for their differences and supported on their wellness journey. B. Update on Capital Improvement Projects • Construction continues at 216 Great Bridge Boulevard, the future home of the Heron’s Cove Crisis Receiving Center. It is estimated construction will be complete in the Fall. C. Sequential Intercept Model Workshop After a competitive application process to SAMSHA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), the City of Chesapeake was chosen to host the Sequential Intercept Mapping Workshop, focusing on diverting individuals with mental health conditions out of the criminal justice system. The workshop was August 9 and 10 and was well attended by representatives from public safety and several healthcare providers from the community.
