APPROVAL OF MINUTES 01-08-2024 Meeting APPROVAL OF MINUTES 02-12-2024 Meeting Terri McManus made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Robert Rabuse seconded. The motion passed. PUBLIC COMMENT None. PRESENTATION – PEER SUPPORT SERVICES, STEVEN HILLS AND KATRELL LEWIS, PEER RECOVERY SPECIALISTS Peer Recovery is a non-clinical service where individuals receiving mental health and/or sub- stance use disorder services are supported by peers. Because of their lived experience, peers can provide support, advice, and resources to help people discover their own chosen recovery path. REGULAR AGENDA A. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS • Crisis Receiving Center – 216 Great Bridge Boulevard The Crisis Resource Center will officially be known as the “We Care Center Heron’s Cove. The name aligns with other City of Chesapeake programs and adheres to the City’s branding standards. Thanks to the efforts of Michelle Bradstock, MH-SUD Pro- grams Director, and Jessica Chinnici, Licensed Program Supervisor, Community Crisis Stabilization Services, the center is scheduled to open very soon. A ribbon cutting cere- mony is being planned. • 840 Greenbrier Circle Demolition of the space that will house the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program is ex- pected to be completed by mid-April. • 224 Great Bridge Boulevard Plans to paint and replace the flooring are underway. B. VACSB UPDATE Senate Bill 34 passed out of the Appropriations Committee. This bill will allow a pilot pro- gram for private hospitals to conduct pre-screenings. OPIOID ABATEMENT AUTHORITY REGIONAL GRANT APPLICATION Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, along with the Community Services Boards in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Western Tidewater, has joined with Sentara Health Systems to submit a proposal for a cooperative partnership grant to create a mobile program serving individuals at risk or, or in recovery from, opioid use disorders. FINANCIAL REPORT Paul Marone reviewed the financial report which contains data through January 31, 2024.
