• Open sealed bids received to purchase the 2014 Rosenbauer Pumper advertised on December
5th and accepted by the Borough beginning December 12th.
• Award bid for the purchase of the 2014 Rosenbauer Pumper to _________________________
for the purchase price of $_____________________.
PUBLIC WORKS – Michael Girardi, Chair:
Discussion regarding Public Works intention to use Rugged Utility and Contracting for
Water Distribution System management and maintenance.
• Action to contract Rugged Utility and Contracting (RUC) to perform a leak detection survey of
Cheswick's entire Water Distribution System for a cost not to exceed $5,000.
(Note: the initiative is funded in the 2023 Budget. In anticipation of increased risk of water breaks
due to the cold weather, the initiative is to identify any small leaks that may be aggravated due to
the cold weather. This survey will include every valve in the system It will also result in a footprint
for the entire system that will be referenced should a leak occur that does not come to the surface.
RUC will also paint each valve as they survey the system. RUC will take GIS points to start collecting
data for GIS should Cheswick decide to purchase and implement the use of a GIS system).
• Action to contract Rugged Utility and Contracting (RUC) to provide consulting services regarding
the maintenance and management of the Cheswick Water System for $350 per month.
(Note: Rugged Utility and Contracting (RUC) will oversee the operations of the Borough’s water
distribution system and provide recommendations for efficient and effective operations of the
system and compliance with regulatory requirements. They will be available 24/7 to provide
consulting regarding systems operations and issues, including time spent to become familiar with
the system).
RECREATION & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Shawna Ecker, Chair
• Action on the Conditional Use Application submitted by Brandon Miller for use of the property
located at 1415 Pittsburgh Street as a Dog Grooming shop subject to the compliance and terms
set forth in the Code of the Borough of Cheswick.
• Action on the Re-Zoning Application submitted by Sittig Cortese LLC, representing the owner of
parcel ID 530-S-137 MacLean Avenue to rezone the parcel from R-3 Residential District to C-1
Community Business District.
