COUNCIL OF CHEVY CHASE VIEW Closed Session Date: May 24, 2023 Place: Virtual Present: Ed Tarbutton, Chair; Paula Fudge; Tommy George; Peter Marks; Nancy Somerville Called to Order by Ed Tarbutton at 7 p.m. Closed Session. At 7 p.m., in open session, Nancy Somervile made a motion to enter closed session, pursuant to Maryland Code, General Provisions Article § 3-305(b)(1) to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personal matter that affects one or more specific individuals. Tommy George seconded the motion, and it passed by a vote of 5-0. The Council conferred on the top three candidates for the Deputy Town Manager position and agreed to tender an employment offer to Denise O. Hitt. At 8:02 p.m., Tommy George made a motion to adjourn. Peter Marks seconded the motion, and it passed by a vote of 5-0.
