DuBois, Alfred W. Kendall, Edward A. Rybak, Janina Surdyka Upon motion by Mr. Rybak, seconded by Mr. Kendall, the minutes of the April 1, 2016 meeting were unanimously approved. Neal Representative in 1st 26 406 318 Congress Congressional Registration statistics (including address and party affiliation changes) for the month of April are as follows: Registered in the office 46 Received from the RMV 271 Registered by mail 44 Registered at public-assistance agencies 66 Registered online 51 Received from other City/Town Halls 2 Deleted from voter registration roll (moved, died or in 119 response to confirmation notice) Since July 1, 2015 the Department collected $21,888.45 from passport applications and spent $12,348.45 for photo ink and paper, priority postage, 7 calendars, receipt books, 4 reams of business paper, staples, post-its, 4 mouse pads and $10,500.00 transferred to Special Services for conducting the Annual City Census. The present balance of this account is $134,282.02. Motion was made, seconded, and carried unanimously to accept the Clerk’s report as presented. Old Business: Clerk informed members of the Board that she is in contact with the IT Dept. regarding purchasing new multifunctional copier/printer/fax/scanner. Members of the Board suggested to look into leasing this equipment as a possible alternative. New Business: -Motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved that Nomination Papers be certified as presented by the Clerk. - Motion was made, seconded and carried to request the continuation of the Passport Revolving Fund for the purpose of processing and mailing passport applications - Members of the Board were in agreement to seek a proposal for printing of 50 Street List Books and to include Wards’ boundaries in dividing List into Wards and Precincts. - Motion was made, seconded and carried unanimously to conduct special registration session at National Night Against Crime and at Chicopee Farmers Market as time permits based on the operational needs of the Department. Good of the Department: Clerk of the Board stated that the issue had arisen with a Census Taker being attacked by a dog and that this Census Taker considers it to be a minor incident. Nonetheless he was advised to report it to our Police Department but he refused to seek medical assistance. Members of the Board decided to look into purchasing pepper spray for the next year census. Next meeting of the Board was scheduled for June 24th at 9:00 a.m. Meeting adjourned at 9:55 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Clerk of the Board
