Du Bois, Alfred W. Kendall, Janina Surdyka, Edward A. Rybak Minutes of the October 12, 2017 meeting were reviewed, approved as presented by the Clerk, and placed on file. Correspondence: - Election Division – Initiative Petitions Deadline - Boston Passport Agency – 2018 Annual Certification Passport Acceptance Program Motion was made, seconded, and carried to place correspondence on file and to complete re- certification tests by the end of the calendar year. Registration statistics (including address and party affiliation changes) for the month of October are as follows: Registered in the office 27 Received from the RMV 206 Registered by mail 42 Registered at public-assistance agencies 21 Registered online 8 Received from other City/Town Halls 6 Deleted from voter registration roll (registered in other 151 community, died or in response to confirmation notice) Since July 1, 2017 the Department collected $7,259.65 from passport applications and spent $1,409.05 for photo ink and paper, priority postage, 2 reams of business paper, staples, metric ruler, calendars and recyclable bags for shredder. The present balance of this account is $144,258.94. Motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved to accept the Clerk’s report and to refer Initiative Petitions to New Business. Old Business: Clerk of the Board informed members that in preparation for the 2020 US Census together with GIS Director she, attended Local Update of Census Addresses Workshop on October 25. This workshop was sponsored by Secretary of State William Galvin. New Business: the following action was taken by the Board: - Motion was made by Mr. Kendall, seconded by Ms. DuBois and carried that Initiative Petitions be certified as presented by the Clerk. - Proposals for printing and mailing of 2018 Census questionnaires were requested from LHS and Associates Inc., Mass Mailers and Park Press Co. Motion was made by Mr. Rybak, seconded by Ms. Surdyka and unanimously approved to accept proposal from LHS and Associates at the cost of 23 cents for printing and projected postage cost of 38 cents for each census questionnaire.
