City of Chicopee City Council Human Resources Committee Members James Tillotson Gary Labrie Jerry Roy Pniak-Costello APPROED 11-7-2022 Krampits MINUTES October 11, 2022 The following are the minutes of a public hearing held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, Fourth Floor, City Hall Annex, 274 Front Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Members Present Tillotson, Labrie, Roy, Pniak-Costello, Krampits Also Present Dan Garvey (Associate City Solicitor) Councilor Laflamme, Councilor Zygarowski, Councilor López, Scott Provost (IT) The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM In compliance with the Open Meeting Law the Chairman asked if anyone in the audience was recording the meeting. Hearing none the meeting continued. ITEM #1 Mayoral appointment of Hugo M. Destapado as a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission to serve as a member for the term of 5 years expiring on the first of May 2027. Mr. Destapado was present at the meeting. He stated that he has been involved in youth sports in the city for numerous years. He has served on the Board of Directors for AJAC, a coach for AJAC and he is currently the soccer coach for Chicopee High School. Councilor Labrie asked that as a Parks & Rec Commissioner to please consider other sports in city parks. Councilor Roy thanked Mr. Destapado for his service. Councilor Costello also thanked Mr. Destapado for his service and asked that the parks be kept clean. Councilor Zygarowski stated that he supports Mr. Destapado’s appointment.
