The following are the minutes of a public hearing held Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 6:30 PM in the City Council
Chambers, Fourth Floor, City Hall Annex, 274 Front Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
Members Present: Tillotson, Laflamme (remotely), Krampits, Labrie
Member Absent Roy
Also Present: Dan Garvey (Associate City Solicitor), Councilor Zygarowski, Councilor
Galecki (remotely), Doug Ellis (City Engineer, remotely)
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM

a. Part-time Television Production Director 25.00 per hour
b. Junior Internship Student Camera Operator 15.00 per hour
Councilor Laflamme asked if these are full time positions. Councilor Tillotson stated that one is an internship
and the other position is part-time.
Motion made by Councilor Laflamme and second by Councilor Tillotson to approve.

ITEM #3
Liberty Street – East side – At the intersection of Liberty Street and Old Field Road - ISOLATED STOP
SIGN
Councilor Galecki stated that Liberty Street intersects with Old Field Road and needs a stop
sign because it meets with the main road.
Councilor Zygarowski stated that he received a request for the stop sign from a constituent.

ITEM #4
East Main Street – South side – from Belcher Street to 5 feet past driveway at 254 East Main Street –
PARKING PROHIBITED
Councilor Krampits received a complaint from a constituent about vehicles parking too
close to the driveway. He has also received complaints from folks including the Police
Department that as vehicles are coming down East Main Street coming down the hill and
folks are parking on the right hand side by the curve drivers have to cross the yellow line
to be able to get passed the parked cars. This poses a safety issue.
Motion made by Councilor Krampits and second by Councilor Tillotson approve.

Woodlawn Street – North side – 35 feet from St. James Avenue – PARKING PROHIBITED HERE TO
CORNER
Councilor Krampits stated that this is a constituent request. There already exists a No Parking
sign 25 feet from the intersection but there seems to be some difficulty for drivers pulling into
Woodlawn Street from St. James Avenue.
Motion made by Councilor Krampits and second by Councilor Tillotson approve.

Woodlawn Street – South side – 25 feet from St. James Avenue – PARKING PROHIBITED HERE TO
CORNER
Councilor Krampits stated that this proposed ordinance goes along with the previous
proposal to prohibit people from parking on the other side of the street too close to St.
James Avenue.
Motion made by Councilor Labrie and second by Councilor Tillotson approve.

Motion passed by unanimous roll call vote.
