GOLF COMMISSION MEETING MINITUES
May 8, 20180
CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER 6:00 p.m.
Chairman Robak called the meeting to order at 6:00pm
Attendance:
Chairman Robak, Vice Chairman Lonczak, Commissioner LaPlante, Commissioner
Nadeau, Director O’Neil, Superintendent Bach, Concessionaires Doug & Andrew.

Communications: None
Suggestion Box review:
There were two items in the suggestion box.
1) Requesting a fire extinguisher be installed in the pro shop.
2) Asking to extend the 5th tee area back
There was a discussion regarding the suggestions, the Commission agreed on a
fire extinguisher in the pro shop. Director O’Neil will purchase the extinguisher.
Regarding the tee box on hole # 5, its not possible to do this at this time

Acceptance of Minutes: April 25, 2018 Minutes
Vice Chairman Lonczak made a motion to accept the minutes, Commissioner Nadeau 2nd
the notion. All in favor, motion passes.
Superintendent report:
Superintendent Bach gave the following report. He mentioned the course was recovering
from the recent aerification.
He said that his crew has started edging bunkers and continued some of the small
projects.
He informed the Commission that he will be spraying for weed control.
Director Report:
Director O’Neil gave the following report. He stated that he met with the Mayor and
Auditor regarding the budget.
He also stated that he had spoken to the mayor regarding the dead tree situation on the
course.
He had been in touch with the construction company and they would be installing 3 trees
that they removed for the water main construction on the 12th hole area.
He mentioned that the recent ladies’ clinic went well, there were 28 attendees.
The leagues were going well and that he had secured a new league for Tuesday am.
He had also spoken to the city dpw regarding extending the cart path paving along the 7th
hole.
Chairman Robak had mentioned to the Director that he had noticed a few of the carts
were dirty after washing.
Concession Report:
Concessionaires gave the following report, they stated that things were going pretty well.
They have had a few outings so far and the feedback has been very good.
They mentioned that they are fully staffed, and Doug was working on the soup kitchen
outing.
The concessionaires mentioned to the Commission and the Director that golfers have
been bringing their own alcohol on the course.
A discussion was held on outside alcohol on the course.

Vice Chairman Lonczak mentioned that the lady’s bathroom needed faucets replacement.
New Business:
1. Investigate painting exterior of the clubhouse / cart barn
Director O’Neil will reach out to the Sheriffs Dept to see if they would be
interested in doing this project.
2. Educating golfs on ball marks on greens
Chairman Robak asked the Director if it was possible to educate golfers on how
to properly remove ball marks on the greens.
Director O’Neil is going to put the USGA repair techniques on every cart, so
gofers will be able to see how its done properly.
3. 7th tee step work
Commissioner LaPlante mentioned that the stairs are deteriorating, and the hand
rail is getting looser.
The Director had provided the material cost at a previous meeting. All were in
favor that something had to be done, Director O’Neil will look into a solution and
get back to the Commission for the next meeting.
Old Business:
1. Development of tree replacement policy for course
A motion was made by Commissioner LaPlante to move this item to the next
meeting so our Director could submit a policy for approval . 2nd by
Commissioner Lonczak All were in favor.
2. Touchscreen report
Director O’Neil stated that he had spoken to the City Law Dept and Purchasing
and also to the Advertising company on the terms and conditions required .
3. Cart Damage report
Director O’Neil stated that there was no major damaged carts.
4. Geese report
Director O’Neil stated that many geese have left the course, he also mentioned
that he had a quote from the USDA regarding removing the geese if they
continue to be a problem.

Also, Vice Chairman Lonczak & Director O’Neil will be reaching out to
Westover regarding this matter.
5. Additional Employee only parking signs install
Superintendent Bach stated that he to call a digesafe before he could install the
new signs.
6. Tee advertising up date
Director O’Neil stated that he had received a few renewals and also a few new
sponsors.
Review and signing of bills:
Completed by all Commissioners in attendance.

A motion was made by Vice Chairman Lonczak to adjourn, the motion was 2nd by
Commissioner LaPlante. All in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm.
