Commissioner Robak 2nd the motion. All in favor, Motion passes. 1 Superintendent report: Superintendent Bach not in attendance passed the report on to Director O’Neill. The golf course conditions continue to be very good despite the weather conditions. The 7th Green, hit earlier by fungus, has been patched and is recovering well. The 8th Tee area has been hit hard by Fungus. The Tee area is surrounded by trees and bushes and receives very little air circulation. Director Report: The recent Junior Golf Instruction Camp was well attended and successful. A camp has been scheduled for August. Outing held since the previous meeting went well. Both sessions of the Appreciation Day Tournament scheduled for Saturday, 7/28 are almost full. Repairs were made to the floor supports in the rear of the clubhouse by the area of the refrigerator. Concession Report: None New Business: 1. Cart path repaving on hole # 7 The DPW is very busy and will review installation of a cart path later in the season. 2. A/C system in concession area. The current A/C system is inadequate in meeting the cooling requirements on high demand days. Director O’Neill will request for quotes on a Mini Split system. 3. SOP for reporting accidents in the club house or on the course It’s important that the Commission / City be made aware in written form of any injuries which occur on its property which would include vendor personnel injuries. Director O’Neill will review current City Policies and recommend an SOP. 2 Old Business: 1. Development of tree replacement policy by Director Director O’Neill continues to have discussion with the City Forestry Dept. 2. Additional Employee only parking signs install (Dig safe) Dig Safe has completed its inspection. Signs will be installed by the next meeting. 3. Painting of Club House/Cart Barn update The Sheriff’s Dept. has yet to come out to determine materials required. 4. 7th tee area steps update Materials for the job are now at Chicopee Mason Supply. Director O’Neill will contact the contractor to inquire about the start of the project. 5. RFP course maintenance 5-year contract Ongoing review and suggestions for changes continues. 6. 9Th hole bell placement / Signs for 7,9,10 tees. Bell to be moved to a more convenient location. Director O’Neill to request the Park Dept. to make signs. 7. RFP Concessions lease discussion Any suggestions for changes must be discussed and approved for the next meeting on 8/14/18. RFP should go out to bid very soon after. Review and signing of bills: Completed by all Commissioners present.
